Helping customers amend their pack for automation is a regular occurrence in the studio and for many customers it is their first venture into choosing a cartoning or sleeving system. Rituals contacted T. Freemantle when the volume of one of their most fragile and premium products grew to a point where introducing a carton packer was more economical than hand packing. The existing pack design didn’t translate to automation due to the number of intricate tucks and folds, but with some clever modifications the studio team was able to modify the pack to run on its fully automated cartoning line which consisted of primary carton erecting of the inner module to load the bottle and sticks into prior to the primary assembly being transferred into the outer carton to produce a premium product presentation.
Heck launched a premium range of sausages and designed a new style shelf ready freestanding upright pack sleeve. As volumes increased, they decided to invest in automation and choose T. Freemantle to modify the pack to run on a Fully Automatic Preglued Sleever machine. By making a tweak to the locking mechanism on the base of the sleeve, we were able to load sausages at xxx packs per min and achieve the desired volume Heck required.
